Centro Famiglie Firenze (Florence Family Centre)
New service for families
Area di attività

Inaugurated in February 2025, the Florence Family Centre is a new service managed by the Istituto degli Innocenti in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence and the Health Society to bring together and introduce a series of activities to meet the various needs of families through the integration of social, educational, psycho-pedagogical and health services.
The Centre, which is partly based in the Institute's premises, offers a flexible response to the requests and needs of families, who can also find information, support and guidance thanks to a local network in the educational, social and health fields.
Activities
Open to all citizens and free of charge, the Centre accommodates the needs of every family, guaranteeing access to a range of services. Below are the services to be found at the Institute:
- Information Desk. This access point to the Centre and the network services is where families receive information on local services, resources and institutional and informal opportunities (educational, social, health, school and leisure). Open to all, it is free of charge and offers all useful information to meet the needs of families and assist them in organising their daily lives. The desk is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 11am, Tuesday and Thursday from 2pm to 4pm.
- Guidance and Advice. Educational advice and guidance activities through interviews with experts to provide support for parenting and relational skills as well as guidance to access local educational, social and health services.
- Crescere insieme (Growing Together). An educational service created thanks to a collaboration project with the Region of Tuscany to promote activities aimed at supporting parenthood.
- Bambini al centro (Children at the Centre). A family mediation service for couples in high-conflict situations to protect the psychological and physical well-being of their children.
- Neutral space. A meeting place for children and parents and/or significant non-cohabiting relatives allowing children to continue to experience a positive bond with adults.
- Spaces for workshops and meetings. A participatory opportunity for children and young people to give voice to their free expression, including creative expression, through meetings and workshop activities. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to join the Talking Groups, places for sharing and supporting the reorganisation of daily life following the separation or divorce of parents.
